DIRECTIONS.
Thompson's Seafood was established in 1917 by Golden and Ruth Margaret Thompson, who relied on the abundance of the land to sustain their livelihood. They initially began offering their seafood as wholesale to the neighboring community. Their inaugural establishment was situated on the banks of the Potomac River, specifically on St. Patrick Creek adjacent to St. Clements Island.
Following Golden Thompson's illness, he entrusted the business to his son, who was merely in the 8th grade at that time. This passing of the torch ensured the continuity of Thompson's Seafood.
In the year 1972, the company transitioned from being solely a wholesaler to also functioning as a retailer.
In 1988, Paul Thompson assumed control of the company and established the catering branch, known as Thompson's Catering, thereby marking five generations engaged in the seafood industry.
Thompson's Catering specializes in providing catering services for a wide range of events, including weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties, reunions, banquets, company picnics, funeral repasses, and more. We are known for our expertise in offering raw oyster bars, clam bakes from Maine, Crab feasts, and company picnics. Additionally, we offer a 10% discount to senior citizens, military personnel and for funeral repasses.
